Kristina Hartless, 39-year old teacher at Beauclerc Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida was arrested in December 2010 on allegations of sexual contact with a boy she was tutoring.
Hartless was the alleged victim’s church counselor and math tutor. The boy is not a student at the school and none of the alleged sexual contact took place at the school. Hartless came to the attention of authorities when the mother of the boy became concerned that her teenage son had an inappropriate relationship with Hartless.
Hartless, who is charged with three counts of capital sexual battery of a child over 12 while in custodial authority, admitted to having a sexual relationship and having intercourse with the boy multiple times over a period of months, and the boy allegedly admitted it had gone on for months.
Documents released by the state attorney's office in the case of an elementary school teacher accused of having sex with a student she was tutoring outline how prosecutors said the teacher and boy had been secretly texting each other and chatting on Facebook for months.
According to the documents, one text message conversation reads:
Teen: "I love you."
Hartless: "I love you too!! Soooo much. I'm so glad we had some time together tonight. We needed that!!"
Teen: "We really did."
Hartless: "I can't wait until we have some real alone time ;)."
Teen: "I know, me too."
Another text message conversation describes what the two really wanted to do, the documents indicate.
Hartless: "I'm getting real tired. But I don't want to stop talking to you!!"
Teen: "Me too, but I'm about to fall asleep."
Hartless: "Then let's go to bed together!!"
Teen: "OK, with a proper good night."
And, according to the documents, another text message conversation reads:
Teen: "I have to have you!!!"
Hartless: "And I will let you have me!! Over and over again."
Teen: "Fresh start with you and me in a new country please. Soon!!!"
Hartless: "Oh I wish!!! I pray!!! I hope for that to happen."
Teen: "I need it to."
Hartless: "You know what I really wish?"
Teen: "What?"
Hartless: "Is that we could be together and everyone would accept it. That it wouldn't matter. We would just (be) another couple. No hiding. No running. No worrying."
